Suno vs Udio vs Nafy AI: Quick Verdict
Suno wins this three-way at 8/10. It is the most complete AI music tool of the three: finished songs from a prompt, stem splitting, a free tier worth having and paid plans from $10 a month. Nafy AI (7.5/10) finishes second — it beat Suno on vocal quality in both of our same-lyrics tests, but two free attempts, annual-only billing and no free downloads hold it back. Udio (4/10) finishes last twice over: it missed our style brief in the same-lyrics test, and you cannot download your music anyway.

We Put the Same Lyrics Into All Three
In our Nafy AI vs Suno head-to-head, we gave both tools identical lyrics across two genres. Nafy AI produced the stronger vocals in both tests, and in the reggae test the better track overall — a result that surprised us, given Suno is the established, better-funded platform.
In August 2026 we gave Udio the same lyrics and the same style brief: a dance/soulful EDM track with a female vocal. It missed on every count. Both takes came back as a weak pop song verging on R&B, the vocals sounded rushed and out of step with the beat, and we could not find a way to switch the vocal to female. And because Udio has no downloads, the only way to keep evidence of our own test track was to record it from the speakers with a microphone.
Hear All Three Versions of the Same Song
Same lyrics, same style brief — a dance/soulful EDM track with a female vocal. All three were captured the same way, recorded from the speakers, so the comparison is fair. Judge for yourself.
Why Udio Finished Last
Udio’s problem used to be policy alone. Then it failed our test as well. In October 2025 Udio settled Universal Music Group’s copyright suit and disabled downloads, exports and stems — retroactively, including for tracks subscribers had already paid to create. Until you can take your music away, we cannot recommend paying for it. Full detail in our Udio review and Suno vs Udio comparison.
Who Should Choose Suno?
Choose Suno if you want finished songs with the least friction. The free tier’s 50 daily credits are enough for roughly six songs a day (non-commercial), paid plans start at $10 a month, and stem splitting plus Extend give you room to rework tracks. Its known weakness: songs over two minutes can lose coherence.
Who Should Choose Nafy AI?
Choose Nafy AI if vocal quality is the thing you care about most — it beat Suno on vocals in both of our tests — or if you want voice cloning, a vocal remover, stem editing and 14-language support in one place. Be ready for the packaging: two free attempts, no free downloads, and annual-only billing in US dollars.
Should Anyone Choose Udio?
No. Udio is the cautionary tale of this comparison twice over: it missed our style brief where the other two hit it, and even a perfect result would have stayed locked inside Udio, since there are no downloads or exports. If exports return we will retest — but on current evidence it trails on both product and policy.
Suno vs Udio vs Nafy AI: Our Verdict
Suno is the best AI music generator of the three — 8/10 in our testing — because it pairs strong output with the fewest obstacles between you and a finished, downloadable song. Nafy AI (7.5/10) has the better vocals and the deeper feature set, and a packaging fix away from challenging Suno. Udio (4/10) missed our brief — and makes music you cannot keep anyway. Scores come from the same four criteria we apply to every tool on WhatAITools.co.uk.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which AI music generator is best in 2026?
Suno is the best AI music generator we have tested in 2026, scoring 8/10 for finished songs from a prompt, a usable free tier and $10/month paid plans. Nafy AI (7.5/10) wins on vocal quality; Udio (4/10) missed our style brief and has downloads disabled.
Is Udio still worth using?
Not for paid use. Udio disabled downloads, exports and stems after settling Universal Music Group’s copyright suit in October 2025 — retroactively, including for tracks users had already paid to create. It also missed the style brief in our same-lyrics test. We scored it 4/10 and will retest if exports return.
Is Nafy AI better than Suno?
On vocals, yes: Nafy AI beat Suno in both of our same-lyrics tests. Overall, no: Suno scored 8/10 to Nafy AI’s 7.5/10, because Nafy’s two free attempts, annual-only US-dollar billing and lack of free downloads count against it.
