Our editorial policy: We only publish full reviews of tools we’ve genuinely tested and can recommend with confidence. Below are tools we looked at but chose not to review — and why. We think being transparent about this is more useful to you than padding the site with lukewarm write-ups.
Not every AI tool that lands in our inbox — or trends on social media — earns a full review. Some make claims we couldn’t verify. Some are built for agencies or developers, not everyday people. Some appeared overnight with heavy influencer promotion but no real track record. And some simply aren’t AI tools at all.
This page lists the tools we assessed and passed on, with a brief note on why. If you’ve seen one of these promoted heavily online, hopefully this saves you some time.
⚠️ A note on SEO tools claiming to “boost Google rankings”
We looked at a number of AI-powered SEO tools that promise dramatic ranking improvements — things like “216% average traffic increase” or “rank on page 1 in 30 days.” We’re sceptical of this entire category for a few reasons:
- The claims are almost impossible to verify independently
- Many rely on tactics that work short-term but can attract Google penalties
- Several appeared suddenly with heavy influencer promotion and no established track record
- Transparent case studies with real client data are rare
This doesn’t mean all SEO tools are bad — tools like NeuronWriter and Ranked AI have earned their place on this site. But we’d rather tell you we’re not sure than send you toward something unproven.
Tools We Looked At But Didn’t Review
| Tool | Category | Why We Passed |
|---|---|---|
| AiClicks.io | AI Search Visibility | Tracks your brand’s visibility and mentions across AI search engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and others. 1,000+ businesses, 4.9/5 on G2. Pricing: $59–$499/month. Legitimate concept and real product, but the cost puts it firmly in B2B and agency territory. |
| Allia AI | AI SEO | Established AI SEO platform with AI search visibility features — pre-renders pages for AI crawlers and tracks citability. Featured in Forbes, HubSpot, and Backlinko. WordPress plugin available with real case studies. More credible than most AI SEO tools, but built for agencies and enterprises rather than everyday people. |
| Aoneseo | SEO | Claims to automate SEO processes using AI, but with no verifiable case studies, no independent reviews, and no transparent methodology. Typical of a wave of low-profile “AI SEO” tools launched with bold promises and little proof. Not enough credibility to warrant a review. |
| AutoSEO AI | SEO Automation | Claims to automate SEO and boost rankings with AI, but relies entirely on self-promotion with no independent reviews, case studies, or verifiable results. Automated backlink building — a core part of its pitch — is exactly the kind of grey-hat tactic Google actively penalises. Avoid. |
| Babylovegrowth | SEO Automation | Auto-creates content and backlinks claiming to get Google and ChatGPT traffic “on autopilot”. Makes unverifiable ranking promises — same category as AutoSEO. Skip. |
| Explee | Whiteboard Animation | An established cloud-based whiteboard animation platform that pre-dates the current AI wave. At $7/month it’s genuinely good value for educators and small businesses needing simple explainer video content. The limitation is that Explee’s AI credentials are minimal — it’s a traditional drag-and-drop animation tool with AI features added rather than an AI-first product. In a site focused on AI tools, it doesn’t fit the brief comfortably. |
| FatJoeWho | Content Agency | Established content and link-building agency that has been operating since 2012. Offers blog writing, infographic creation, press releases, and managed link-building campaigns used by thousands of agencies as a white-label outsourcing service. Refreshingly honest about being a human-run service rather than AI — but not an AI tool, so outside our scope entirely. |
| Fonio.ai | AI Phone Assistant | German AI phone assistant that answers inbound business calls, qualifies leads, and books appointments automatically. Rated 4.9/5 on GetApp and fully GDPR-compliant, aimed at European SMBs who miss calls outside business hours. Genuinely well-reviewed product, but the German-market focus and business telephony niche make it too geographically specific for our primarily English-speaking audience. |
| Foreplay | Ad Creative Intelligence | B2B ad creative intelligence platform rated 4.8/5 on G2 from 124 reviews. Teams use it to discover, save, and analyse high-performing competitor ads across Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn — building a searchable swipe file with performance context. Strong credibility and a loyal user base, but it serves paid social managers at B2B SaaS companies rather than everyday users, making it too niche for our general-audience brief. |
| Gentoo AI | E-Commerce | AI-powered product recommendation and conversion tool built specifically for Shopify stores. Uses AI to personalise product discovery, surface relevant upsells, and improve conversion rates for e-commerce brands. A solid use case for Shopify merchants, but too specialised and B2B-focused for a general everyday-people audience. |
| Hypefy.ai | Influencer Marketing | Enterprise influencer marketing platform built for major consumer brands. Uses AI to identify influencers, manage campaigns, and measure ROI at scale. Clients include NIVEA and Unilever. No self-serve plan — minimum engagement is typically an enterprise contract. Interesting product at the right level, but completely inaccessible to individual creators or small businesses. |
| Moz | SEO Platform | One of the most established SEO platforms in the industry, founded in 2004. Invented Domain Authority (DA) — the metric now used across the industry to measure a site’s ranking strength. Core tools include Keyword Explorer, Link Explorer (one of the largest backlink indexes available), Site Crawl, and the MozBar browser extension. Pricing from $99/month. A genuinely credible product, but a professional SEO research platform rather than an AI-first tool — and firmly in expert/agency territory. |
| Net Entropy Score | Brand Analytics | Academic brand consistency measurement framework based on an SSRN working paper. One-person operation that has analysed 650+ brands across 40+ sectors. Tracks how consistently a brand is perceived across touchpoints. Too niche and research-focused for everyday use. |
| Okara | AI Marketing Platform | AI CMO platform running 10+ marketing agents (SEO, Reddit, LinkedIn, X, GEO, content, influencer). 100,000+ users, trusted by Razer and Sticker Mule. $99/month. Genuinely substantial product, but firmly B2B and agency-focused — not aimed at everyday people. |
| QA Agent Pro | Developer Testing | AI-powered automated testing platform for software development and QA teams. Generates and runs test cases, identifies bugs, and integrates with development workflows to reduce manual testing time. A genuine AI productivity tool — just not for everyday people. Firmly in the developer tooling category. |
| Rank Score | SEO | Positions itself as an AI-powered SEO scoring and ranking tool, but its AI credentials are unclear and there are no verifiable results or case studies available. Difficult to distinguish from a standard SEO metrics dashboard with AI branding applied. Passed. |
| Rankprompt | SEO | Claims to use AI to improve search rankings, but with an extremely low public profile, no independent coverage, and no verifiable case studies. Not enough information to assess fairly — and the ranking promises without evidence put it in the same category as tools we routinely pass on. |
| Sanity.io | Developer Platform | API-first headless CMS used by major brands including Nike, Cloudflare, and Figma. Developer-centric platform designed for teams who want full control over how content is stored, structured, and delivered across channels. Has integrated some AI features for content management, but it’s fundamentally developer infrastructure — not an AI tool for everyday people. |
| Searchable | File Search | AI-powered document and file search tool that lets teams find information across scattered files, cloud storage, and connected apps. Aimed at knowledge management inside organisations — more enterprise productivity than consumer AI product. Not distinctive enough within the AI tools landscape to warrant a standalone review. |
| Soro SEO | SEO | Extremely low public profile with no independent reviews, user testimonials, or verifiable case studies we could find. Makes SEO ranking promises without any evidence of results. In a category full of similar claims, the complete absence of a track record makes it impossible to recommend. |
| Stape.io | Marketing Infrastructure | A well-built managed hosting platform for server-side Google Tag Manager that solves a real problem — ad blocker-related conversion data loss and privacy-compliant tracking. However, it requires existing GTM expertise to evaluate and is aimed squarely at marketing operations professionals and agencies. The connection to AI is indirect: better conversion data improves AI ad bidding performance downstream, but Stape itself is a tagging infrastructure tool. Too technical and too niche for an everyday-people AI tools audience. |
| VidiRelay | AI Video Tools / Transcription | Turns public YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook links into transcripts, subtitles and repurposed content. The concept is useful and the site is well built, but the core function — transcribing videos you do not own — sits against those platforms’ terms of service, and VidiRelay carries its own disclaimer that it is unaffiliated with any of them. We are not comfortable recommending that to readers. It is also very early: 4 users and no ratings on the Chrome Web Store at the time of writing, no independent coverage, and the developer is listed as a non-trader, meaning EU consumer rights do not apply to purchases. We would look again if adoption grows and the licensing position is clearer. |
| Viktor | AI Productivity | AI coworker that lives natively inside Slack and Microsoft Teams — summarises threads, answers questions, and automates routine workflows without leaving the chat interface. Has raised $75M, reached $15M ARR, and is used by 2,000+ organisations. Impressive enterprise traction, but the setup complexity and Slack/Teams dependency make it difficult to review fairly for non-developer, non-enterprise readers. |
| Webflow | Website Builder | Visual no-code website builder used by over 3.5 million designers and developers worldwide. Powers sites for Dell, Dropbox, and other major brands. Now includes some AI-assisted design features, but Webflow is fundamentally a sophisticated design and CMS platform — not an AI tool. Steep learning curve also makes it better suited to designers than everyday users. |
