This is my Easy MCP AI workflow: how I actually run WhatAITools with Easy MCP AI and Claude. Since 6 October 2026, most edits on this site have gone through Claude, connected to WordPress by the Easy MCP AI plugin, rather than through me clicking around wp-admin. I ask in plain English, Claude makes the change through the plugin, and every call lands in an audit log I can check afterwards. Here’s what that looks like in a normal week, including the jobs I still do by hand.
Disclosure: Themeisle, which develops Easy MCP AI (its parent company is Vertigo Studio), asked me to write up how I use the plugin day to day. I sent them this draft to check facts; the opinions are mine. Themeisle also paid me $100 to publish a summary of this workflow on its own site. My first Easy MCP AI review (8/10) was written and published before any of this, and the payment didn’t change it.
How Is My Easy MCP AI Setup Configured?
My Easy MCP AI setup is deliberately narrower than everything the plugin can do. Claude can read and write posts, pages, media, post meta, menus, blocks and revisions, moderate comments, and use the Rank Math and Google Search Console tools. It can’t create or change users, and it can’t touch plugins, themes or site settings. Those privileged tools are switched off site-wide by default anyway, and I’ve left them that way.
- Rank Math integration — Easy MCP AI exposes Rank Math’s SEO fields and its own “abilities”: settings, sitemap status, redirects, 404 logs and schema.
- Google Search Console — Easy MCP AI connects to Search Console through a read-only Google service account, so Claude can pull clicks, impressions and positions without me exporting anything.
- Audit log — Easy MCP AI records every call, including the ones it refuses. That’s the feature that made me comfortable handing a live site to an AI.
What Do I Use Easy MCP AI for Each Week?
Small edits to live reviews
Most of my Easy MCP AI use is small, targeted edits. The plugin’s find-and-replace tool changes one phrase inside a post without re-sending the whole thing. On 13 October I fixed my Indexly review this way: a new title, a rewritten opening, first-person voice in the verdict and FAQ, a corrected score-table row and three internal links pointing at old addresses. That was about a dozen separate edits, each one logged, and none of them needed the block editor.
Bulk jobs across the whole site
Easy MCP AI is at its most useful on jobs I’d never do by hand. The same day, Claude rewrote the excerpt on around 80 posts so each one is a single first-person sentence with the review score. Partway through, the plugin hit its default limit of 60 actions a minute, so the rest went through the browser and the leftovers were finished through the plugin once the limit reset. All of them were confirmed saved. Lesson learned: pace big batches, or raise the limit in the plugin settings — 60 is only the default. The Easy MCP AI team describes the limit as a brake on how fast things can go wrong, so on WhatAITools I have left it where it is.
SEO titles, descriptions and Rank Math settings
Easy MCP AI’s Rank Math tools let Claude set SEO titles, meta descriptions and focus keywords directly. Through Rank Math’s abilities I also switched on the 404 monitor, checked the sitemap (99 posts, 12 pages, 15 category archives) and pulled the redirect list. That data went straight into my Rank Math free review.
Search Console checks before I decide what to work on
Easy MCP AI’s Search Console tools changed how I prioritise. Instead of exporting spreadsheets, I ask which posts are close to page one and work on those first. That’s how I found that none of my Make.com posts had earned a Google click in three months, and that the openings were in smaller questions like “make.com free trial”. It’s also how I ordered the batches for converting older reviews to first person: most impressions and closest to page one go first.
Scheduling and the publishing queue
Easy MCP AI lists scheduled posts, so checking for gaps in the queue, moving a post to a free slot or pulling one back to draft is a one-line request. When a review wasn’t ready for its slot, Claude moved it back to draft and put a finished one in its place, about an hour before it was due to go live.
What Do I Still Do Outside Easy MCP AI?
Some jobs on WhatAITools still happen in the browser, with Claude driving Chrome instead of the plugin. My rule is simple: if Easy MCP AI can’t make a change, do it in the browser rather than leave it, and note why in my log.
- Featured images — I generate my 1200×675 review cards in the browser and upload them from there.
- Affiliate links and code snippets — Pretty Links and WPCode are edited through their own admin screens.
- Rank Math schema — this past week, review and FAQ schema writes through the plugin’s general REST tool were rejected, so I’ve been saving schema from the browser instead. Rank Math also needs a
metadatakey in every schema object, or its editor panel breaks. - Site settings — anything behind Rank Math’s React settings screens, such as the llms.txt options, I do in the browser.
What Habits Keep an AI-Run WordPress Site Safe?
- Keep permissions narrow. Users, plugins, themes and settings stay off. Easy MCP AI makes that easy to check from one screen.
- Confirm the post ID before every write. A search once matched the wrong post; now every edit is checked against the ID first.
- Never put credentials in the chat. I paste keys and tokens into wp-admin myself, and rotate anything that ever appears on screen.
- Check revisions before “fixing” a surprise. An unexpected change is often my own earlier edit.
- Read the audit log. Easy MCP AI logs every call, including refusals, so I can see exactly what happened.
What Would Make Easy MCP AI Even Better?
Three things from daily use that I’ve passed to the Easy MCP AI team, who have sent them on to the developers:
Warn when an AI client is on an old grant
Newly enabled Easy MCP AI tools don’t appear in an already-connected AI client until it fully reconnects and re-authorises. A clear “this client is on an old grant” warning would have saved me a confused half-hour.
Tell the AI about the rate limit up front
Easy MCP AI’s default limit of 60 actions a minute (adjustable in the settings) is sensible, but if the AI client knew about it before starting, it could pace big jobs instead of hitting the wall halfway through.
Document Windows-style line endings
WordPress stores post content with Windows-style line endings. A short note in the Easy MCP AI docs would help anyone running find-and-replace across several lines.
Is Easy MCP AI Worth It for a One-Person Site?
Yes. After a week of running WhatAITools through it, Easy MCP AI has become my default way of working on the site: small edits, bulk updates, SEO fields and Search Console checks all happen in one conversation, with an audit log behind every change. A few jobs still need the browser, and you need the discipline to keep permissions tight. A full Easy MCP AI review, based on a month of running WhatAITools through it, is coming soon — my first review, written in week one, scored it 8/10.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Claude edit a WordPress site through Easy MCP AI?
Yes. Easy MCP AI turns a WordPress site into an MCP server that Claude connects to, and Claude can then read and edit posts, pages, media and SEO fields within the permissions you set. WhatAITools has been run this way since October 2026.
Is it safe to let an AI edit a live WordPress site?
It can be, if you keep permissions narrow and check the log. On WhatAITools, Easy MCP AI’s user, plugin, theme and settings tools stay disabled, every call is recorded in its audit log, and I confirm the post ID before any write.
